Nina's Inspiration
"An artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned,
is to reflect the times."
-Nina Simone
Why This Space Exists
Nina Simone understood that art is never neutral. It either upholds the status quo or challenges it. It either ignores injustice or names it. At 3.20, we follow in her footsteps, using performing arts as a vehicle or truth-telling, consciousness-raising, and collective liberation.
Inspired by Nina Simone's belief that 'an artist's duty is to reflect the times,' the Nina Simone Page is a dedicated space to honor artists, businesses, and organizations rooted in purpose and passion—those who boldly move community and culture forward. This platform amplifies voices that not only create, but challenge, uplift, and inspire collective growth.
If you are an artist who deeply cares about humanity and is looking to use their art for truth telling and dialogue that creates and connects Community consciousness. "More than pages" was exactly the kind of experience 320 was made for. A space where art, truth, culture, and community can exist together. Amanda Seales brought her book off the page and into the room through humor, storytelling, and performance. Together the host and artist created a space for honest reflection on Black culture, politics, justice, and healing." - Diamond Brandon

"320 has been a great example what happens when artists bring their whole self to how they show up. I’m inspired by the intentional space that is being cultivated in center the arts with advocacy that shows up in politics, activism and social justice." -Kendrick Dial
